Alida Gerritsen

Coach

Alida has been doing CrossFit since 2014, although she also likes to count the previous year because that was when she started with Olympic Weightlifting. She was a collegiate swimmer and found the transition to CrossFit to be a logical one and fell in love immediately. She finally took the jump to being a weightlifting coach in 2020 and a CrossFit coach in 2022. Alida strongly advocates for strength training for women, because women are too often encouraged to sacrifice muscle for the sake of cultural trends, which she believes is detrimental to overall health and wellness in the long term. Her coaching style is strength focused and science-backed, and she likes to try to explain the why as well as the how.
